»We wish the Else musicians' program, realized with passion and an unerring sense for the beauties of Senfter's muse, a large audience.«
FONO FORUM, August 2024, about the debut CD "Johanna Senfter: Chamber Music"
Else Ensemble
Named after the poet and painter Else Lasker-Schüler, the Else Ensemble is made up of German and Israeli musicians who have won prizes at international competitions and are members of leading orchestras worldwide.
The ensemble is dedicated to the performance of German and Jewish composers and eagerly researches neglected works and repertoire suppressed by political events. As part of its research, the ensemble accompanies editions with publishers such as Schott and Donemus.
The Else Ensemble regularly collaborates with diplomatic and cultural institutions and has also initiated innovative interdisciplinary concerts. With its enthusiastic joy of music-making and its unique sound, the Else Ensemble has performed throughout Europe and in Israel, where it has appeared in prestigious concert series such as SWR Schlosskonzerte (Ettlingen) and at important venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie and the Tel-Aviv Museum of Art.
